Josh began his career in 2003, after finding body piercing through his connection with punk music. Piercing and tattoos were ways to express yourself and what was important to you, and that resonated with him deeply. In 2011 he joined the APP to continue bringing safe piercing to the central coast. Today he spends his days owning and operating the studio. Josh enjoys empowering clients to express themselves through body piercing, and loves doing nostril and conch piercings.

Camie started in the industry in 2015 here at Above & Beyond. She started as a jewelry stylist and after attending APP conference in 2017 she found a passion for piercing and began her apprenticeship. Camie loves being able to help clients feel beautiful and good in their own skin. She focuses on doing empowering, affirming piercings. Her favorite piercings to do are conches- with big bold jewelry!

Michelle joined the team in 2021 after being a long time client of the studio. With a passion for piercings already, she found a love for working with clients of all backgrounds to style their jewelry. You can find them behind the counter helping you curate your ears, and in the back managing our state of the art sterilization process. 

Tobias started at Above & Beyond in 2023, moving across the country from Iowa City to Santa Barbara to begin their career in the industry. As an enthusiast, they've traveled to visit many studios, shadow notable piercers, and get pierced. In 2022, Tobias attended the Fakir Intensives training seminars. To them, the journey of piercings is the art of finding one's true self, and they want to bring that same comfort and confidence to every client that comes through the door.
