Our Story
Above & Beyond Body Arts is a professional body piercing studio located on State Street in Santa Barbara, California. Established in 2010 as Golden Eagle Body Piercing, we have been proudly serving the Central Coast and beyond for over 10 years. After a remodel and a refresh we rebranded as Above & Beyond in 2022.
Our sunny, friendly, and inviting space is Santa Barbara's premiere full-service body piercing and jewelry studio. We provide a fun and luxurious experience in a safe and approachable environment. With over 20 years of experience in piercing and jewelry, from the simplest to the most advanced, our knowledgeable and friendly team members are excited to make your piercing dreams a reality!
Our Studio
We are an industry leader in health and safety, and exceed all state regulations. In addition to being registered with and inspected by the Public Health Department, all of our team members are required to complete Blood Borne Pathogen training and First Aid/CPR/AED training. We use Statim G4 steam autoclaves to sterilize all of the materials needed for our procedures. We conduct weekly independent testing of our machines to ensure that sterilization conditions are consistently being acheived.
Jewelry
Above & Beyond Body Arts only uses the highest quality biocompatible materials for our piercing and jewelry services. All of our jewelry comes with a lifetime guarantee against any manufacturer's defects and we will easily replace and/or process a repair for any damaged items.
We proudly feature manufacturers that participate in the APP's Body Jewelry Verification Program. This program aims to set a comprehensive set of minimum standards for ensuring that jewelry used for long-term wear in body piercing adheres to a higher standard of quality controls and manufacturer practices.
The old saying "One Size Fits All" does not typically work for piercings and body jewelry, and our team members understand that more than other jewelry retailers. Ensuring you get the proper length, thickness, diameter, and style is the essential service provided to you by professional piercers.
Our Education
Alongside years of hands-on experience, our practitioners are all members of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP), which is an international health and safety organization dedicated to the dissemination of information about body piercing and body jewelry. The APP is a united group of professionals that freely shares information to help fellow piercers, health care professionals, legislators, health inspectors, and the general public get the best and most up-to-date information about body piercing.
Our team members are committed to continuing their education at the annual APP Conference & Exposition. This event provides various workshops, lectures, and classes about piercing history, techniques, business, health education, and much more. In addition to this major event, our team members have pursued additional education through many other recognized organizations, including the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), the Fakir Musafar Foundation, the Body Modification Exchange Network (BMXnet).
